I come from a nuclear family in India and see no reason why my kid cannot develop into a good citizen the way my parents made sure I did..........
I learnt at a very young age that living with your cousins/uncles/aunts is not necessarily a guarantee of being close........ I am a lot closer to family I never lived with in the same city than I am to family who lived a few blocks from where we did.........
It is all in how the parents mold the environment for their kids. if we as parents fail in our duty towards our kids, does not matter where you live, we will do a great disservice to society..........
Sure, I dont think there is any one correct answer for this dilemma. Most of us are going to base our decisions on our personal circumstances and hope that they turn out correct in the long run :)

I had started a healthcare thread previously and it got poor response. Eventually we created an iv-physicians chapter to track our issues and work with the core team on the overall goals of ending retrogression.
There are a number of efforts on to help Schedule A applicants, some of these are parts of more comprehensive efforts like Cornyn's recent amendment.
I suggest you organize the Schedule A folks into a group. IV is very happy to work with any group that takes responsibility for their own needs.

I just did the math.
I am sure most of you have assets worth of at least $150,000. So if 300,000 are stuck in the backlog. This would mean if these guys leave this country, then that would be $45 trillion loss for USA.
Guys is there a way to get some media publicity of the possible loss of $45 trillion for USA due to US Immigration mess??

For every dollar deposited with banks, they lend $9. Don't know if you factored that in your calculations. It could be loss of $9x$45billion = 405billion. To add the circulating effect of $405billion in economy. For every dollar that is lend, it generates nearly $3-4 into GDP. That will mean nearly loss of $1.6trillion. This is close to 10% of GDP.

I feel that initiator of this thread is not trying a coup d'�tat. He is merely pointing to the fact that every organization runs by elected officials. Having a life term president and core group is only heard in autocratic systems but not in a democratic one. What are we as an organization?
Why are we afraid of discussing new ideas? Why shouldn't we open up IV organization for elections? There is nothing wrong in declaring the rules and then playing by those rules.
So I completely support the guy who came up with this suggestion.

The bill being discussed in the senate if passed is going to be very detrimental to people that are stuck in the labor backlog centers. They wil be forced to redo their labor with the new point based system. That is not fair at all.

But why should we lose the PD that we've been hanging on to for so long. For all we know, they might retrogress EB2 next - with USCIS, there's no room to take chances. I'm on my 10th yr here and don't want anything to go wrong at this point.

I think this person was indeed trying to port to EB2 some time back, but even the EB2 had a PD of Nov 2005. So even if the port succeeded, even that would not explain the out-of-turn approval.

Since EB3- I is doomed can I apply for consular processing and move to canada since i recently got canadian green card. I have a EAD and AP and I am in H1B status too.

Nope I dont agree. Even though theres any retrogression it would be very mild.
I have to agree with vdlrao, what will be interesting to see is where EB2-china is when DOS bulletin comes out. My guess is that EB2-china is current along with ROW.

I fully support this donor forum. there should be some incentive for members who donate. they are not doing it because they have lots of money to spare, but they sacrifice because they believe in this cause. I don't think $25 is going to break anyone's bank. Just sacrifice something that you consume/enjoy every week, and donate that.
It's a pity that even with about 25K members, we cannot raise a minimal amount. People need to realize they cannot simply enjoy the benefits of someone else's labor.

all what i did is the following :
A-filed the application and paid it on line. I called the cgnfs to check on the required documents.
B- part of the cgnfs application is need to be sent the the Nusring Board of education in the state you are licensed in. Call the nursing board of education in your state, usually there is a fee for varification of licneses.
Ask them if you can include an express paid envelop so there wont be any delays. Explain to the nursing board that you need it fast so they finish it fast.
C-Your transcripits has to be sent from your college.(do not send it yourself). I went to my college, ordered my transcripit and went to the nursing office and had them express mail it the same day.
I believe you need your high school diploma as well. Call the cfnfs and them for they exactly wants from you.
You do not need Toefl if you are educated in the US.
My experience with them is that they are fast if you are US educated because they do not really have to evaluate your education.
