Several exciting initiatives are underway on the healthcare front, and we also invite professionals from other fields(apart from healthcare). However, y'all must take up leadership and lead these efforts via IV as the platform!

Whay are you jealous of people who are porting? Why can't people go from EB3-EB2?
This is different from the Labour substituation, if a person filed in EB-3 in 2001and gained 7 years of experience, if the company is promoting him to the next higher position, it is very much acceptable for USCIS to promote his EB-3to EB-2.
I don't think USCIS will not give any shit to anything you are trying.
Once you have approved I-140, that date is your's buddy. Jealousy suckers.
So what you are saying is, everytime you apply for a I-140, all your previous I-140's should be dropped. Is that you want. Do you realize they can not do this as an Admin fix?
So basically you want to get Green card and be happy and everybody else should die in the f***** queue.
WHY DON'T YOU USE THIS F****** ENERGY FOR SUPPORTING (EMAILS, CALLS TO THE SENETAORS) THE RE CAPTURE BILLS.
People, most of us here are just afraid that they will get red dots, be ridiculed for their beliefs. But the things is; If we don't fight for our rights, who will. We have to defend our place in the queue, which at the moment is at substantial risk.
I want everybody to get their GCs. but now interfiling/porting is hurting out position in the queue.
If you are not aware, a good bunch of EB3s are now trying to interfile & port their PDs which are between 2001 - 2005 to EB2.
This will potentially put tens of thousands of people in the EB2 queue before most people in EB2 who are waiting.
These people were not eligible for EB2 when they filed their own labor.. so they should NOT BE ALLOWED TO PORT THEIR OLD PDs. Sure EB3 can Interfile .. but you will get a new PD ... the date you interfile.
If we just keep looking... there will be a huge retrogression in EB2. And its not like these EB3 people will get through with the interfiling/porting. Most of them will be issued RFEs. Their labor apps will be audited and their primary EB3 apps will be cancelled. Infact, 85% of interfiling will never successfully make it through. And its not like it will help the EB3 brothers. That queue will still be long... because they are not going to withdraw their EB3 apps.
Also, while they will not succeed in interfiling/porting, they still will have their apps with USCIS and USCIS will sit on them before eventually issuing NOID. Sad part is they will count these when giving numbers to DOS for setting visa bulletins.
This PD porting is the last "not so ethical & legal" thing after labor substitution.. that we need to Put a cork on.

There are 2 options in my opinion.
1. Secure an appointment with the local ASC and have them expedite this case if you want to travel early. They may require some supporting documents. The appointment can be made via Infopass at http://infopass.uscis.gov/index.php
2. Call USCIS at the number on your receipt notice. Select a series of numbers as per the prompts to talk to a Service Rep. Tell them your urgency to travel and they will expedite your case. It will take 5 business days from the date the request gets expedited to get a response back from USCIS.

I dont mean to say against the IV core's efforts. They are doing an amazing job with in their time limits.
But the issue is the time limit itself. There are 20K members dependent on the limited time of the IV Core. They can only see any change when these IV Core's limited time is put to use. And if for some reason IV core is engaged personal interests ( which cannot be denied because they have their personal life too) then valuable time goes wasted.
So the issue is the time spent on activities by the IV Core. We cannot force them to spend their lives on IV activities and at the same time cannot let down the IV member activities. So what is the best way. Get full time coordinators who can come up with strategies that can have real time implications.
Dont bash at me this is just my understanding of the situation.

People are jumping into conclusion with a few approvals from 2004/2005, but what you are not considering is the number of people with 2001/2002 priority dates who just applied for 485 in June. There might be a lot of them (I am one of those). If there are not too many of them, it is good for everyone, but its very tough to predict.
From what I heard from my lawfirm, they expect the oct bulletin to go back to 2001 or early 2002. But with everyone filing 485, USCIS should be able to predict the number of applicants and move dates better compared to earlier when they were shooting in the dark and wasting visas.

If there are few cases which are returned for false reasons ( see other thread) after Aug 17th probably those few will be forgotten till PD becomes Current again - 6-7 yrs - Huh ? :)

I just registered for IV. I wish I could come to DC rally on 18th. But due to certain unavoidable circumstances I may not be able too. Though not an excuse But I feel very guilty about it and this guilt will always remain there that I was not part of rally on 18th. Missouri story - I was sent home by DMV office, reason, I was not carrying my latest Pay stubs. I hate these Midwestern states...they were sleeping before 9/11 and suddenly woke up and squeezed their asses. Can you imagine, ignorant DMV in Missouri gave me DL on B1/B2 visa in 2000? I showed them Passport as proof#1 and US visa as proof#2 and ignorant officer said...you are good to go! Now 7 years later, it is written in bold over there....
ONLY US CITIZENS walk away with DMV, rest everyone go through USCIS.
Just like in a desi shop in arm pit state New Jersey I saw this..."IN GOD WE TRUST, REST EVERYONE PAY CASH"
I knew I will have issues with DMV so I paid extra 1000 to get H1B premium and retained my privilege to drive. Believe me guys....this is America.....spend more...save more!
